OBIANUJU EGBUONU-CLARKE

Obianuju, “Oby” Egbuonu-Clarke is recognized as a leader in the accounting discipline having worked for over 13 years in the Financial, Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Investment sectors. She is currently assistant controller for a private equity firm where she oversees the work outputs of a team responsible for the accounting functions of multi-million dollar operations. In this role, Oby is also responsible for all audit and cash management functions as well as the implementation and management of accounting-related technology systems. Prior to this role, Oby served as accounting manager for Vision Source where she was responsible for revenues and activities well exceeding $100 million.  Known in her field as an expert in streamlining processes and creating efficiencies, she provides consulting services to many accounting departments for large and small companies, providing leadership to improve system inefficiencies and strengthen accounting controls.

As the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Oby has a deep appreciation for the values of educational excellence, hard work and personal sacrifice toward achieving professional goals. She also understands the role bias and discrimination can play in creating barriers to full inclusion in the greater society. She approaches her professional, volunteer and personal roles with this in mind supporting others to be their best selves by coaching discipline, hard work and respect for others.

Oby holds a Master of Business Intelligence and Analytics degree from Saint Joseph’s University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. Most proudly, Oby has been happily married for 13 years and is mother to two smart and energetic daughters.
